Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage
From 11:00 to 12:00 every day, the facility based in Nairobi is accessible to the public. Daphne Sheldrick's Elephant Orphanage is located in Nairobi National Park and cares for and nurtures newborn elephants and rhinos whose mothers have died from poaching, were killed, were injured, got lost in the wild, or other catastrophes.
While raising the orphans to be released back into the wild when they are ready, Daphne and her devoted group of keepers do more than just feed, wash, and walk the babies—they also offer emotional support. The baby elephants interact with their keepers by playing, taking mud baths, and being fed milk, therefore it is worth a trip to the park to observe this.
