Samburu National Park

The stunning environment of the Samburu National Reserve is made up of palm groves and riverine forests that are situated among dry and semi-arid ecosystems. Famous animals may be found living in this wide area of remote, untouched wilderness, which is also characterized by a serene atmosphere. This reserve guarantees a true wilderness experience and is situated in Laikipia, one of Kenya's less traveled areas.

The largest river in northern Kenya, Ewaso Nyiro, can be found in this dry region, which is the traditional homeland of the Samburu people. The Samburu people were drawn to this region due to the dependability of the Ewaso Nyiro, which satisfies the thirst of the numerous animals that roam this reserve.

To the south, the river flows through the national parks of Samburu and Shaba as well as Buffalo Springs.

This rocky, unforgiving area exposes a beautiful, breath-taking safari experience because it is home to the endangered northern special five species (Grevy zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and the beisa oryx). Gorgeous Samburu elephant herds amble through this game-rich reserve, and big cats stalk through the dense acacia bush.

In this semi-arid area of the country, there has long been a commitment to conservation. Forbidding conflicts between people and wildlife has benefited greatly from community engagement. Getting to know researchers, trackers, and organizations that work to protect endangered animals is an amazing opportunity.

Leopards are commonly seen, endangered black rhinos hide in dense undergrowth, and the Mara River is home to huge crocodiles and rafts of hippopotamuses. Over 450 different bird species can be found in the park.
