Mikumi National Park
Mikumi National Park, which forms the northern boundaries of Africa's largest wildlife reserve, the enormous Selous, is one of Tanzania's most popular, and the most accessible area of a 75,000 square km wilderness.
The Mikumi flood plain, as well as the mountain ranges that border the park on two sides, are the park's principal features. The flood plain is dominated by open grasslands, which eventually merge with the miombo forest, a favorite haunt of the lion.
