Saadani National Park is the ideal blend of beach and wilderness. Saadani is a lovely day excursion from the beach resorts strewn along Tanzania's northern coast, located approximately 70 kilometers north of Bagamoyo and readily accessible by paved road from Dar es Salaam. It's the only wildlife sanctuary in East Africa with an Indian Ocean beachfront, and it has everything that makes Tanzania's tropical coastline and islands so popular with European sun worshipers.

The Wami River, which flows through Saadani National Park before emptying into the Indian Ocean, is home to a big population of hippos, crocodiles, flamingos, and a variety of large bird species.
